Effective communication is essential in every personal and professional relationship. Studying the nature of communication is essential to learning how to improve its practice in a variety of relationships. The Department of Speech at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ College introduces students to concepts of communication theory while emphasizing practical applications. Courses cover all aspects of communication: verbal, non-verbal, written, and aural. Students are guided toward critical thought as they create, revise, and deliver a variety of presentations.
Students interested in Speech as a major or minor after transferring to a 4-year university are encouraged to complete the Associate of Arts Degree in general studies that includes elective credits in the areas of Speech, English, and Foreign Language.
