Professional Development
Faculty should contact online@cisco.edu to obtain their Canvas credentials and enroll in the required Canvas training course. The training course introduces Canvas navigation basics, communication features, methods for organizing course shells, creating and grading assessments, and more.
The Distance Education program maintains the Faculty Resources shell in Canvas. Faculty Resources is a hub for links to policies, information, forms, and tools to promote effective teaching and learning in distance education and web-enhanced in-person classes. It can be accessed from the Canvas Global Navigation Menu Resources folder.
During the fall and spring semesters, the Distance Education program hosts monthly professional development sessions focusing on distance education resources and practices. A calendar is available in the Faculty Resources Canvas shell under Professional Development.
